Test reports
These test reports and certificates cover the products and fabrics FireHush sells. They were issued to our manufacturing partner. A test report applies to the sample that was tested; a certificate applies to the products it names. Each product page lists the report that applies to that product, and says so when a report is available on request instead.
Heat ratings in our listings describe the fabric, not a promise about what a product will survive. Fire blankets are for small, starting fires. EV blankets contain a vehicle fire; they do not put out a battery fire.
ASTM F1989
Standard Specification for Cooking Fire Suppression Blankets. The US specification for blankets used to put out accidental cooking fires. It covers flexibility, ease of removal, electrical resistance and fire performance.

EN 1869:2019
Fire blankets, the European standard. A voluntary certificate from ECM, an Italian certification body, issued after review of the technical file against EN 1869:2019, the European fire blanket standard. An EN 1869 test report is also available on request.

DIN SPEC 91489:2024-11
Requirements for fire limitation blankets for use with electric vehicles. A German specification for blankets that cover a burning vehicle to limit fire spread and smoke. It is about containment around an electric vehicle, not about putting the battery fire out.

UL 94
Flammability of plastic materials for parts in devices and appliances. A material flammability test (how a material burns and self-extinguishes). It rates the material, not the finished blanket's fire-fighting performance.
